What time should I arrive to the event?
We suggest arriving at least 45 minutes prior to when you would like to participate to allow for checkin/registration and collection of kit etc. Please refer to schedule times on homepage of website.
Do I need to be a seasoned runner?
No, this event is for all ages and fitness levels. This event is all about colour explosion with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl or skip if you wish!
What is included with my registration?
Each registered participant will receive a new white t-shirt, bandana, coloured sunglasses & a colour powder packet for the colour explosion finale. All of this can be collected at check in.
Are there refunds?
No, all fees and charges paid in registration for the ‘Lismore Colour Explosion Fun Run’ event are non-refundable. The logistics of planning and setting up the event make it impossible. Just please make sure you are good to go before signing up.
Can children participate?
Children aged up to 8 years old will need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian and all participants to be registered.
Can I run with my pet?
No, sorry, pets are not allowed in this event due to Bio Security Laws (see this link for more information), except in the case of assistance dogs. Entrants with assistance dogs must advise the event organisers upon entering the event.
How do I get my participant kit?
You can collect your kit at check in from 8am on the morning of the event. Don’t forget your phone with QR code or confirmation email to check in.
Where can I store my belongings?
There will be a bag check area to store your belongings while you participate.
How is the colour administered along the course?
There will be friendly volunteers along the course whose main goal is to douse you in colourful powder.
How does the post race colour explosion work?
At the conclusion of the run, the crowd will be included in a colour throw with one bag of powder per participant. This will be the colour explosion finale. Additional powder packets will be available to purchase on the day.
Will the colour ruin clothes or shoes?
The colour does mostly wash out after the event. However, we suggest wearing items that you don’t mind getting covered in colour. We also suggest bringing an old towel for the car trip home!
Is the colourful powder safe?
The colour powder used in the event is non-toxic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly, consisting of 98% corn starch + 2% food colouring. Based on the toxicology profiles of the powders used, their concentrations in the formulation and the mode of use, the colour powder is considered safe for use.
- Sunglasses should be worn to help prevent powder in the eyes.
- If you have a lung issues such as asthma, it is advised to be careful in your decision to participate. Use of a bandana or dust mask for over your mouth is also recommended.
Can spectators attend the Post Race event?
Absolutely. We will have additional colour powder packets available to purchase on first in , first serve basis.
Can I bring my phone/camera?
Yes, but at your own risk. If you decide to bring, we recommend covering your phone/camera with a protective cover. However, the powder particles are tiny and ‘Lismore Colour Explosion Fun Run’ is not liable for any damage that may be caused.
Is the colour run timed?
No, this is a family and friends event that’s all about fun! We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finishing time.
Can I transfer my registration to another person?
No, registrations are non-transferable due to insurance reasons.
What if I’m pregnant?
It’s totally up to what you and your doctor decide. The powder is all certified non-toxic. However, we recommend wearing sunglasses or goggles, and a bandana or dust mask over your mouth for extra protection.
What if I have an ADA need?
People with a disability who require a companion for the event please come and see us at check in. The companion will attend free of charge, but will need to sign a waiver before participating in the event. The companion does not need to register online unless they want a race kit, in which case registration is essential.
As this is cross country course, an all terrain wheelchair would be necessary.
What happens if there is bad weather?
A little rain won’t stop the event. If there are major weather warnings in Lismore during the weekend of the event we will update the ‘Lismore Colour Explosion Fun Run’ website. So, keep a check on this for updates. In the event that severe weather does threaten, the event will be postponed to a date to be advised and publicised on the ‘Lismore Colour Explosion Fun Run’ website.
There will be NO REFUNDS in the event of postponement or cancellation.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes, free parking will be available on the oval near the event, however as parking is limited we would recommend car-pooling if at all possible.
Will there be first aid at the event?
Yes, St. John’s ambulance will be present in the event of accident or injury.
Will there be limited tickets sold to this event?
Yes… So get in quick!!
